EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LDQ BAR EVENTS

Is this a class? No. Our LDQ Bar Events are social line dancing nights, not traditional dance classes. We teach a few beginner-friendly dances throughout the evening so everyone has a chance to jump in, but the main goal is to have fun, meet people, and enjoy a night out.

Where are your events? We host weekly line dancing events every Wednesday at McCarthy’s in Cambridge. We also run select Thursday events at Urban Wild, plus monthly special weekend events at Premiere on Broadway. You can always check our event calendar for exact upcoming dates.

How long are LDQ events? Most events run around 2–3 hours, depending on the venue and format. We usually rotate between teaching new dances, repeating them, and dancing together as a group.

Do I need a partner? No!

Is it awkward if I don’t know anyone? Not at all. Everyone is welcoming, and most people are new when they come for the first time.

Do you have themes at LDQ events? Yes! We host monthly themes that are posted on our calendar. Each month has a different vibe, and you’re welcome to dress up and join in the fun!

What actually happens at an LDQ event? We teach line dances, play music, and keep the floor moving all night. We also play popular songs that experienced dancers already know — those are just open dance moments where everyone joins in and dances freely. If you’re new, you can jump in and follow along, watch first, or just join when you feel ready. It’s very relaxed and social — there’s no pressure to get everything perfect.

Can I learn the dances ahead of time? Yes! We have a few LDQ tutorials available online, and you can also find many line dancing tutorials on YouTube. That said, no preparation is needed. Our bar events are designed so beginners can jump in and have fun.

What kind of music do you play? We mix country, pop, and high-energy crowd favorites — anything that works well for line dancing and keeps the vibe fun and upbeat.

Can I come alone? Yes — most people do. LDQ is very social, and you’ll naturally meet people once you’re there.

Do I need dance experience? Nope — LDQ is beginner-friendly. Most people start with no experience at all.

Do I have to dance the whole time? No — you can join in, take breaks, or just hang out and watch.

JOINing an event

How do I join or attend? There’s no sign-up or membership needed — you join LDQ just by showing up to an event and dancing with us. The best way to stay connected and see where we’ll be next is to follow us on social media.

Can I just show up to an event? Yes — most LDQ events are open to everyone and you can simply arrive at the venue and join the fun. Occasionally, some special or private events may have different access details, which will always be shared in advance.
