The Beginning: Dancing With Friends
Line Dancing Queens (LDQ) was founded by Molly Albert in May 2023, around the time she graduated college in Boston.
While in college, Molly, Vicky, and their close friend group met through line dancing and quickly bonded over it. What started as casual nights out dancing together became something they all genuinely loved. They supported one another on and off the dance floor, and the group naturally became known as the Queens.
Molly came up with the name Line Dancing Queens because “Queen” felt like the perfect word for the group: supportive, confident, fun, and empowering. They were all line-dancing Queens who loved the community they had created together.
After graduating, Molly began consistently documenting the Boston line-dancing scene through TikTok and Instagram. She wanted to showcase the people, dancing, friendships, and energy that made the Boston community special — and, most importantly, bring people together through something she loved.
Molly, Vicky, and their friends happened to be some of the people she was dancing with and filming most often, naturally becoming familiar faces in the content. The videos weren't just about one group, though. They reflected the broader Boston line-dancing community and the many people who made the scene what it was.
For the next two years, Molly continued creating and sharing content while the LDQ community grew organically online. People followed along not only for the dancing, but for the personalities, friendships, energy, and welcoming spirit behind it.
As the content gained traction, LDQ began to become recognized throughout Boston's line-dancing scene. What started as a way to document something Molly loved was becoming a platform for bringing more people into the community.
From the beginning, LDQ has been about more than line dancing. It's about bringing people together, celebrating the community, and creating a space where everyone can feel like a Queen.

Growing Beyond the Screen
By 2025, Boston’s line-dancing scene was growing, and so was the community surrounding LDQ. With more people discovering line dancing and following along online, Molly and Vicky saw an opportunity to create more space for people to come together in person.
Together, they began building the next chapter of Line Dancing Queens, co-founding the live event side of the brand and creating weekly experiences where the growing community could meet, dance, and connect.
What had started as documenting Boston’s line-dancing scene online was now becoming a place where people could experience LDQ in person. Molly and Vicky worked together to develop the events, build partnerships, coordinate the details, teach, host, and bring the energy of LDQ to the dance floor.
As the events grew, so did the community. Followers became familiar faces, first-time dancers became regulars, and weekly nights became a place where people could meet new friends and build connections through dance.
What began as a growing lineup of live events naturally became something bigger: a community that people wanted to keep coming back to and be part of.
Today, Molly and Vicky continue to build LDQ together, expanding the events, experiences, and community that grew from those first nights online.
